Stonebridge Church will be hosting an Intro to Biblical Counseling Class taught by Pastor Taylor. This class will focus on learning the basics of biblical counseling’s need today, its history, theology, and methodology. This class is aimed at helping you understand how God works through His Word in the lives of people. Taylor’s goal is that you will grow in your ability to help people through the various trials, struggles, sufferings, and sins people face with confidence in God’s Word. The class will also help you better understand how the Gospel changes people and how you yourself may live a more holy life.
Whether you are new to theological studies or learning how to love and care for others, or are interested in growing in how to apply God’s Word to people’s lives, this class is for you.
The class involves both lectures and discussion, reading assignments, and a personal growth and sanctification project. Please note: this class lays some groundwork for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors Foundations Training Course. It does not count towards credit for earning the certification.

About the Instructor. Pastor Taylor believes that biblical counseling is a task for the whole church, one that builds the church up in love. As preaching is the public ministry of the Word, counseling is the private ministry of the Word. He wants to see all the Church digging into God’s Word and relying on the Lord Jesus for all of faith, life, and godliness.
He earned his Master of Divinity and his Master of Arts of Christian Counseling. He has been a certified member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors since 2020. He is pursuing his PhD in Biblical Counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has been published in the Journal of Biblical Soul Care and is editing a book for publication on video game addiction.
